THE ORAH FUND ANNOUNCES LATEST HALF-YEARLY DONATIONS

  • The ORAH Fund has announced its latest round of half-yearly donations, bringing total donations for the 2021 calendar year to over $691,000, all while delivering 16% returns to investors for the same period.

  • Donations will be distributed to charities that benefit both the Jewish community and community at large, both locally and abroad.

  • Total donations since inception now exceed $1.88 million

Since inception, just four years ago, the ORAH Fund has now generated in excess of $1.88million in charitable donations – a terrific result due not only to the high-calibre expertise and generosity of the underlying fund managers, but the goodwill and support of the community who have allocated a portion of their investments into the ORAH Fund.

Commenting on the announcement, ORAH Fund Co-founder and Director Carole Pillemer said, “We see ORAH as an asset belonging to the Jewish community, and one which has the potential to generate millions of dollars for charity each year. One of our underlying philosophies is that of ‘Tikkun Olam’ – that we all have a part to play in healing the world, and believe that ORAH is a great vehicle to realise this philosophy. However, in order to enable ORAH’s full potential, all we need is for more members of the community to invest a portion of their portfolios into a well-constructed fund-of-funds made up of an exceptional group of underlying fund managers.

“From funding children from third world countries to get life-saving surgery, to building bomb shelters in the South of Israel, to helping Friendship Circle Bakery become a reality in Sydney it is clear that with the support of the community, we can make a positive and material change for those in need.”

The ORAH Fund is unique because investors do not actually make the donations, nor are investment returns affected by the donations made by the ORAH Fund. Donations are generated by the underlying fund managers who manage the portfolio.

ORAH’s fund managers include Centennial Asset Management Level 18 Fund, Hyperion Global Growth Companies Fund, L1 Capital Australian Equities Fund, L1 Capital Long Short Fund, Macquarie Professional Series Global Equity Fund, Pengana Australian Equities Fund, Pengana Global Small Companies Fund, Pengana Harding Loevner International Fund, Pengana Alpha Israel Fund, Wentworth Williamson, and Yarra Australian Equities Fund.

To date, more than 60 charitable organisations including JCA, Jewish House, Hatzolah, Magen David Adom and many others have benefitted from the ORAH Fund’s donations.
